About

ECPAT-USA is proud to partner on GIFT Box, a street campaign aimed at educating the public on trafficking.

Originally launched by STOP THE TRAFFIK, ECPAT-USA, and the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking at the 2012 London Olympics, the 10-foot-high structure functions as a metaphor for the techniques used by sex traffickers. Visitors are lured into a big, colorfully wrapped box, only to be confronted—through photographs and survivor stories—with the harsh realities of sex trafficking.

Details

ECPAT is recruiting volunteers to sign up for 3-hour weekend or weekday shifts from October 8-20, 2018, to engage New Yorkers on the street. Volunteers must attend a training session on trafficking and how to run GIFT Box on either September 26 or September 27, 2018 from 5-7. GIFT Box will travel around New York City in prominent locations like Union Square.
